Eaton - Ultra-Compact DM1 General Purpose Drives

Eaton’s PowerXL DM1 variable frequency drives deliver maximum functionality in a compact housing, making them ideal for applications with limited installation space. Despite their small size, they provide the full capabilities of a universal drive, including pump and HVAC settings and the control of both conventional asynchronous and PM motors.

Highlights

  • Integrated Bluetooth
  • Short-circuit protection without additional upstream equipment
  • Integrated Modbus RTU
  • Ambient temperatures up to 50° C without derating
  • High overload capacity: 150% for 60 seconds, 200% for 2 seconds, dual rating
  • U/f control, SLV control, PM control
  • DM1 Pro: integrated webserver, Modbus TCP, BACnet MS/TP and IP, Ethernet IP
  • DM1 Pro: Safe Torque Off - SIL2, PLd, Cat.3

Comprehensive Functionality

The DM1 basic version is designed for simple applications that do not require additional control functions. These drives come with Modbus RTU, U/f control, and Bluetooth as standard.

The DM1 Pro versions are additionally equipped with a keypad, 7-segment display, setpoint potentiometer, STO, Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP, BACnet MS/TP and IP, SLV and PM control, an integrated webserver, and a slot for one option card.

Space-Saving in Existing Systems

Thanks to its compact design, the DM1 also fits into small enclosures with a depth of only 200 mm. Its small footprint ensures cost-effective installation within (existing) control panels.

Support During Commissioning – Integrated Webserver

The DM1 Pro requires no external software. An integrated webserver provides access to all device settings and diagnostic data. All DM1 drives can also be parameterized using the Power Xpert inControl software, which offers the same functionality as the webserver. This software can, for example, be used to configure the DM1 without connecting it to a motor. In addition, the drives can also be commissioned via the external DG1 keypad, which displays all parameters and settings in plain text.

Avebe - A Good Night’s Sleep Thanks to FactoryScan
Companies often have no clear idea of the installed base of industrial automation in their factories and warehouses. With FactoryScan, itsme can provide an overview of the current status of automation components such as PLCs. Potato processor Royal Avebe uses the results to update their component stock and assess future availability. The scan is intended to reduce the number of hardware-related disruptions Process Control Engineer Johan Wierenga has to deal with. It also helps him sleep better, knowing the stock is up to date.
